There is a Swedish TV program with a Swedish mastermind that I have watched sometimes, although I haven't seen all the episodes. I was surprised by him (the mastermind) mentioning Swedenborg though. Because this is not really a spiritual program, but more a scientific experiment on the brain and the mind.
I call the man of the program a mastermind, because that's how many of the persons he meets interprets him. In one episode, he was able to remember a long list of words that someone else had written, and that he hadn't seen before. And more impressive, he asked a man selling fruit to put a set of fruits in a paper bag (with no content visible) and the mastermind was able to tell what fruit he had putted in the bag, and where from it was taken from (e.g. pear from left or right.) All the mind experiments in this program is real, and nothing is staged or scripted. The mastermind often perform experiments based on social intelligence, social skills and mind reading. And it's one form of mind reading in an episode where he mentioned Swedenborg, and that he had got a lot of psychic inspiration from Swedenborg. He was saying that although he is using his own methods, this was reconstructing something that Swedenborg could have done... That Swedenborg could have woken up from a dream and have had this advanced knowledge... So the mastermind in the program invite a couple to a mind reading experiment. (I don't know if they where married or not, but I am pretty sure that they where a real couple, or at least close to each other.) On a table, there is a black "crystal ball" and a green "crystal ball", with two red bags of textile. He tells them to decide which "crystal ball" to pick, and he leaves them alone in the room before they picks them up from the table. Then they are picking up the "crystal balls" and put them in the textile bags... When he comes back, he asks them to hold up the textile bags with their threads in front of him. He tells them that the one of them having the black "crystal ball" is going to think about a friend who makes he/she happy. He then goes on to say that Swedenborg would have said that the woman had a black "crystal ball" and that the man had a green "crystal ball"... He then asks them to show which "crystal balls" they have, and he was correct about the colors. But his most impressive skill comes here: He asks the woman to think about her friends name intensely, and mind reading the name, imagine it and to visualize the person (all in her mind). He also says that the name of her friend is what is the most important. He is holding a paper, and while she is thinking about all this, he says the name begins with a consonant. And he is asking for more and reminds about the importance of the name (all without her moving her lips. She just appears to smile with her mouth closed.) He then asks her what her friends name is, and she says Kristina. He says that Swedenborg should have woken up from a dream, a vision and have said "Kristina". And he is showing them his paper where he has written KRISTINA... And then there is this closed envelope, and the mastermind asks the man to pick it up. The man is told to control that the envelope can't be opened without breaking up/opening its "locker". So whatever is inside the envelope has been present in the room before they started talking with each other. He allows the man to give the envelope to the woman, so that she can open it. He asks her the read out loud what is written in the card inside... And it is written something that on this night, her friendship with Kristina is going to be very strong. The mastermind then says that he thinks Swedenborg could have been proud of him, on behalf of his achievement. The man with the woman is so surprised that he use a phrase, saying (not vulgarly in any way) that he cannot understand how this is all possible. The woman says that this is fantastic, and she is as surprised as he is. The man says that he can't imagine at all how this could have been a trick, or a pre-arrangement. And he says it can't be a hoax, because they have witnessed this. And the woman says that this can't be cheated with. It also seems that the spelling of the name was correct, as it can both be spelled Kristina and Christina.

Hjärnstorm is the name of the program, and his name is Henrik Fexeus.
Hjärnstorm could be translated to brainstorm, although it would not have the same meaning as public brainstorming (the key word game).

The digital TV switch here in Norway made it possible for me to record this part of the program with my new box. Although I missed the introduction to Swedenborg (a portrait painting of him) I was able to hit the record button and set it on in time.
I have seen it several times now and I still think it's amazing.

Brainstorm or brainwave... I don't know which word is the best translation of Hjärnstorm, but I think they are both spot on. Brainstorm could be a reminder of the creativity of the program, and brainwave could explain some of the neuroscience behind it. That said, I think the program is more related to creativity than neuroscience. (A scientist would probably disagree.
